Race season is just around the corner!

There are some early bird deadlines coming up very quickly. If you were thinking of registering for these events, now is a good time to both guarantee a spot and save yourself some money.

Chain of Lakes Triathlon

The Chain of Lakes Sprint Triathlon, will be held on May 4 at the Discovery Middle School in Alexandria. This race is the kickoff event to the triathlon season. The eight lane pool will give you a comfortable early season test for your swim with the rest of the course being on some nice roads and trails. We do expect registration to fill up for this event, so register early to get your spot. Remember, you must register before March 1 to receive the discounted entry rate.

This race is also the first event in the Tri Minnesota Series. Series events such as the Northwoods Triathlon and Lake Minnetonka Triathlon have already filled (charity slots are still available) and others will be filling soon. So if there are some races in the series you really want to participate in this year, register soon. Visit the series website for the complete schedule with links to all of the races.

Earth Day Run

St. Cloud's Earth Day Run presented by Scheels is preparing for another year of fantastic fun and entertainment for runners and families. Featured events include the BLEND 1K Junior Run, St. Cloud Subaru 5K run/walk, Scheels Half Marathon and the Half Marathon Relay. The events take place April 19 and 20. Glacial Lakes Series

This running series based out of Central Minnesota has already held its first event with the Frozen 5K in Spicer, MN. The Red Beard 7K is the next event on the schedule, which will be held in Willmar on March 16. Brunch and beer are included in the entry fee.

Also, congratulations to the 2012 Glacial Lakes Series Champions Tracy Sik from Willmar in the Women's Division and Steven Lueders from Kandiyohi and Mick Quinn from Willmar who tied in the Men's Division. Check the series website for information about the Series and other races in the series.

A Salute to Those Who Serve

Runners and walkers of all ages are sure to enjoy this patriotic event in Cold Spring, MN on May 18, 2013. In addition to a 5k run/walk and a 1k kids fun run, you'll have the opportunity to thank our veterans, active duty military, reservist and National Guard members for their service to our country. All proceeds will be given to the local St. Cloud Chapter 9 of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization. In 5 years this event has raised nearly $100,000, which has been used to purchase two vans, support turkey and deer hunts, and do many other things for our disabled veterans. Brewhouse Triathlon & Get Out Project Race Series

In an effort to help individuals achieve wellness and maintain healthy lifestyles, the Get Out Project Race Series, including the Brewhouse Triathlon, has decided to help make multi-sport more affordable and more accessible for everyone in the Upper Midwest! The Brewhouse Triathlon has made a move after 26 years and has joined the Buzz Ryan Sprint Triathlon and the Duluth Triathlon at Island Lake, north of Duluth, Minnesota!
