It’s been another odd spring but the weather is going to get nice and just in time for some events coming up in the next month! Dive in and see what we have to offer!
The next race in the series is the Minnewaska Warmup Half Marathon in Glenwood on May 2. This event also includes a 10K and 5K run. Each year the event offers a ton of prize money for a variety of winners including random drawings. You can go to the series website for information about this event and the other races in the series.
The first triathlon of the season is almost here! The Chain of Lakes Triathlon takes place in Alexandria on May 2. The swim is in a pool so don’t worry about the water temperature. Also check out a new triathlon on our timing schedule, the Blaine Triathlon. While this is the fourth year of the event, it will be the first year we have the opportunity to time it. The 16th annual SCHEELS Earth Day Run is preparing for another year of fantastic fun and entertainment for runners and families. Featured events include the BLEND and Coborn’s 1K Junior Run, St. Cloud Subaru 5K run/walk and Corporate Challenge, and the SCHEELS Half Marathon and the Half Marathon Relay. The Chain of Lakes Triathlon, May 2 at the Discovery Middle School in Alexandria, is the kickoff event to the Minnesota triathlon season. The eight lane pool will give you a comfortable early season test for your swim with the rest of the course being on some nice roads and trails. This event is administered by the Alexandria Swim Club. Registration will close in late April. No registrations will be taken once it closes, so register soon.
Come out for the 4th Annual Blaine Triathlon on Saturday, September 12 at Lakeside Commons Park. Distances are a 0.3 mile swim, 16.7 mile bike, and finishes with a 3.5 mile run. This is a USAT Sanctioned Race and great for beginners or seasoned veterans for their last race of the season! Registration caps at 350. Questions? Please call Nate at (763) 785-6151.
